The National Bonsai Foundation in collaboration with the U.S. National Arboretum have digitized several VHS tapes taken over the years here are the Museum. It only seems fitting to have the first be of John Naka re-potting his world famous “Goshin” here at the Museum in 1995. It was filmed by the late Dr. Bill Orsinger, a dedicated museum volunteer who had the foresight to capture this event on tape.
The Potomac Bonsai Association will be sponsoring a free demonstration conducted by Bonsai Professional Colin Lewis Monday September 2nd.
The demonstration will be held in the Bonsai Museum’s Yoshiumura Center beginning at 9 am and concluding around noon. Following the demo a B.Y.O.T. critique will be conducted from 12:30-2:30. The critique will require a $40 registration fee. To sign up for the critique contact Le Ann Duling at firstname.lastname@example.org
If you are in the D.C. area this weekend we are having a free repotting demo on Saturday and Sunday from 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. in the Museum’s Yoshimura Center.
